Jack and HItler In the novel, Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, a group of kids were on an airplane and they crashed onto a disserted Island. One kid had all the power and his name was jack. Jack was a dictator like Hitler. They both stole their power, manipulated citizens, and put the blame on others to take the attention off of themselves. Jack and Hitler steal power from others to gain control. Golding writes,” I gave you food,” and my hunters will protect you from the beast…”(2). This shows that jack is just feeding everybody so he could have power. Ralph used to be in power until Jack started using food to control the boys. This allows Jack to take away Ralphs power. In addition,” Hitler borrowed money and he gained popularity for gaining more power and was taking control.” Took control away from the people. Both of them controlled their people by taking power that was not theirs. Jack and Hitler manipulated others. Golding writes,” I painted my face. I stole up. Now you eat- all of you!” (2). After the ship left and the fire went out, Jack used the food to control the boys. Eating distracted them from the fact that Jack let the fire go out and they didn’t get rescued. “Hitler has manipulated people by propaganda and brainwashing them to gain more power. (2.)” This use of propaganda strengthened Hitler’s messaged and he gained more followers. Jack and Hitler tried to get inside their minds or head. Jack and Hitler blamed their people for problems they, themselves, caused. Golding writes,” This made the followers choose jack because he had blamed Ralph for being a bad leader. “Hitler and the Nazis saw that Jews, Gypsies, and the handicapped as a serious biological threat to the purity of the Germans” (My Jews learning). Hitler disagreed with the and thought they were going to fight against him. He blamed Propaganda that unfairly blamed Jews for Germany’s economic depression and the country’s defeat in WW1.” I painted my face. I stole up, now you eat all of you.” Both leaders didn’t want their flaws to be pointed out, so they blamed others for their own facts. Jack and Hitler both stole their power, manipulated citizens, and put the blame on others to take the attention off of themselves. They both could have been thinking about others instead of themselves because they were selfish and careless. Works Cited 1. "Comparing Hitler and Stalin In Their Rise To Power." Novelguide.
